According to the National Association of Home Builders, the percentage of new homes constructed with patios increased from 47 percent in 2008 to 64 percent in 2023. Porches rose from 60 percent to 68 percent in that same time frame. A staggering 86 percent of homebuyers now say they want a patio, while 81 percent desire a back porch. Builders are responding with designs that blend comfort, health, and wellness into every outdoor corner.
